During the move, something distressing happened. Something…I’m not proud of. Something that upset me, and John, maybe even Remo too.
Our Tivo was gone.
We had gotten new cable and it was all different and we were so busy with things and running around and fixing the new cable and doing a million different things.
We were out of Tivo for over a week.
And I’m sorry to say, but willing to admit, it was very upsetting.
How were we supposed to watch Heroes and The Bachelor? Lost and America’s Next Top Model? I missed an entire episode of Amazing Race. We had the VCR, but it was confusing and clunky. It doesn’t act like my TV dog and fetch things I want to see. It just sits there, lame, like a fat cat, waiting to be manipulated.
We both felt a little lost, not sure how to work the new cable remote and running out of shows that were left over on the Tivo. We got desperate, watching Sex in the Citys we’d seen before, checking out old Tivo recommendations we never would have considered previously.
We were frustrated by the “live TV”, clicking around endlessly; trying to make heads or tails out of the choices we had, lamenting the slowness of the new clicker, watching shows we really had no interest in. Waiting for On Demand to show us what we wanted to see.
But it’s back now. John fixed it, like he fixes many things in my life. We had to input all of our shows again, plus some new ones (now we have National Geographic, therefore we have the Dog Whisperer!). I feel better, softer, quieter, sweeter, less stressed, knowing my little Tivo is at home working for me, giving me what I want, making everything in life just a little bit easier.

I'd love to be in your shoes right now! Our TiVo was hooked up for just more than a week when *BAM*-- the hard drive crapped out. We couldn't replace it until last night, but tonight, TONIGHT, we shall have TiVo once more!!! It is seriously amazing how quickly it becomes an addiction.
Oh I know! It's so weird how used to it I got. I love it. I love it more than anything ever.
Tonight is when it's most important anyway. Lost/ANTM/Project Runway.
Wednesdays are awesome.
