Here’s my post on Chicagoist regarding ANTM. There’s no reason to doublepost here, right? What I really love though is how some of the commenters get on and talk about how I shouldn’t be watching reality TV. Jeesh. A little mindless fluff and people get all bent out of shape.
Anyhoo, on to deeper matters: Due to my two hour long train ride this morning, I finished my medicine for “After This”.
I cruised through “Water For Elephants” by Sara Gruen, one of the best books I’ve read in a long time. It’s been nominated for two Quill awards and is on its way to win a lot more.
It’s a really sweet story, so well written, so easy to read but not “easy” on the mind. I laughed out loud on the stuck train this morning, and then promptly began to cry on the next page.
Really beautiful book. I highly recommend it. And as you know, my modern fiction has been lacking lately.
Friday yet?
