Back in December, I purchased tickets to go see my Broadway boyfriend, Mr. Raul Esparza, in my favorite Sondheim show, Company!
I bought the tickets so early, cause I knew if I bought them early, we would go.
The Cincinnati Playhouse is a Tony Award winning theater, and I believe they are prepping this show to go to Broadway, as very often happens here as well. Mr. Sondheim has been working on this show himself, and Raul is his number one star.
My mom took me to see 6 Sondheim shows in two weekends at Lincoln Center in Washington D.C. We went for a weekend in June, saw 3 shows, and then a weekend in August for 3 more.
Raul was in at least 3 of the 6. As the lead.
You may also know Raul from Tick Tick Boom, Rocky Horror and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. He has the voice of a sweet, gay angel and he is the cutest thing you have ever seen.
I met him once, he came to The Goodman when Mr. Sondheim was there working on Bounce. I stopped him, and told him I loved him. He was appreciative I believe, he’s well known in his world, but not in the big world. (I also met Mr. Sondheim then, I made a joke, he didn’t get it, relationship over).
So, I’ve been waiting for this for months. And its been a milestone in our puppy search. Once we were back from this trip, we could start looking for a puppy.
I have off tomorrow, a party tonight, a road trip with my favorite man on the planet and a puppy coming up.
Rock. On.
