Shwag

Lost better be good tonight. I swear to God. I’m happy to follow them along, miss episodes every 3 weeks, and not get angry with them for leading us on. But its been awhile, something hasn’t happened for a long time now and I want to see some naked Sawyer. Do you think they’ll have that? Naked Sawyer?

So I got a phone call yesterday from the Architecture Foundation. They had had a lunchtime program I wrote about on Chicagoist. They had a ton of people there (Architecture Critic for the Trib, Blair Kamin, posted on it too) but they heard they had people from Chicagoist there and they went and looked it up. And our fearless leader and mentor of the volunteers over there, Jason, said “Oh yeah, I know Margaret!” and they called me about it.

It was REALLY cool. You put yourself out there, possibly to be yelled at, or corrected, or laughed at (in a good way) and its amazing to me that I can sway (lets just say it, manipulate) people into doing something. I have an impact. It’s odd.

The other great thing about all of this is I got a New Yorker subscription card in the mail. Now, I’ve had a subscription to the N.Yorker and I had to cancel cause its just too expensive.

Well apparently, since a few publishers have sent me books, I get the “professional” discount, which rounds out my New Yorker subscription to 25$!!!! That is A LOT less than it was before. A LOT. I don’t know where it came from, but I took action! Sent in the card today.

Sweet!
