Is MySpace the most fun thing of all time? Is it?
If I was a twelve year old girl chatting with old, smelly men, maybe it wouldn’t be. But as a 35 year old woman talking to old, smelly men, its pretty fun.
Well, thanks to Erica, I found out Mike Doughty will be here on March 18th, but we will be out of town. Which is very sad, but we’ll figure it out.
Also, along with many other mundane but fun things I've learned today, I've learned how to do the hyperlink on the blog. I used to write out the whole program/thing, but today I see the pretty button I need to push and bam! Hyperlink.
So Dan, if I don’t talk enough about Dan on my blog for petes sakes!
But yes, Dan was in town this weekend. Dan owns the Improv Inferno and is one of my favorite people on the planet. Not just cause he’s funny, but because Dan speaks truths. Most people don’t speak truths. They say what you want them to say, or what they think they should say, but not the whole, real truth.
Like, when I started wondering (no, not about John, mkay?) when it was time to be out of a relationship. When does the bad start outweighing the good? When does it go from “supportive” to “destructive”? And of course, no one has answers, no one. But Izzo, Izzo says “It’s 70/30 Hixx, if things are still 70% good, you’re good to go”. And you know what? Thank god someone answered my questions.
When asked about having a baby (which is coming in June!), Dan says “every moment now has the potential to be a life-changing moment. Each moment has the possibility of bringing great tragedy now”. When baby-scared me says “And now your whole life is going to be that way” Dan says “yes, but its balanced with how much love I have for this kid already.”
So now that I’ve shared our personal moments, everyone just know that Izz is the one that will tell you your truths, horrible or not, and the way he’ll do it, you’ll be laughing. Even if its bad.
Miss you Izz, and your lovely wife and baboola.
