You know what's fun? Falling in love.
What a wonderful thing. Its fun to watch and listen to other people do it too, especially when one already has a certain someone and can truly enjoy watching a friend feel the first little shimmers....
Oh I remember the days.
I had loved John for so long before he ever really knew me. It was pretty much a whole year before I finally acquired the guy. One night we were out at the bar, and after my friend Dori had given John a proper talking to about what the hell he was thinking, not looking around him and seeing what was there; John turned to me at the bar and said “You wanna get out of here?” AHHHHHHH! I thought I would die. And I’ll never forget that first morning, after we had spent the night together for the first time. That excitement, and the thing that struck me the most, was that I KNEW I had him. Not in a grabby fish net kind of way, but in a “I KNEW IT!” kind of way.
The days laughing and talking, lying naked in bed all day, smooching and being nervous but sure all at the same time.
So much fun, so so so much fun.
And you know what? Even though the cliché excitement of finding out all about someone is gone, the love is still there, as strong as ever, the laughing and the naked, all still there, its different in tone, but its still there.
I hope everyone who wishes for it gets it. Its truly inspiring is what it is, inspiring.
What is NOT inspiring however, is my 7:30 AM dentist appointment for a root canal.
