Hey.....

My oh my, another cloudy Monday.

Well, what a weekend it was. Hixx wanted a party? Hixx got a party, and a very angry tooth to prove it.

Friday night we had a roast for our friend Chris Alvarado who is leaving to go make it in LA. Chris is a modern day Fonzie. He can get any girl he wants, any time and he hangs out with a bunch of nerdy nerds like us. We’re all older and nerdier than Chris, but for some reason he likes us anyway. So we need him to go to LA and be famous, so we can be his entourage. And if anyone can do it, its Chris. He’s got the x factor, and he’s the sweetest guy to boot, good looking, young, and weirdly hilarious.

So after the shows at the Playground, we all headed for some pre-partying at the Town Hall. I was taking it pretty easy, due to the toothy surgery I had had on Weds, and gleefully watched as my friends began to get completely loaded.

We pulled ourselves away from the bar and collectively toddled over to the theater, where immediately two bottles of Makers Mark started being passed around the room. The theater was pretty full, everyone drinking and yelling and doing bits. Nothing like a roomful of drunk improvisers getting ready for a roast.

John was host of the roast (and cock of the block) and did a good job keeping the drunken ramblers moving along. The girls did great jobs roasting Mr. Alvarado and some of the dudes were just a little too looped, which made it all the more hilarious. If you unfortunately walked by the roasters just as John was introducing someone, it might be entirely possible he would say your name to do the next roast.

The night eventually ended at 4:00AM and John and I decided rightly, to skip the “after party”.

And although I didn’t drink (much) and really kept things on the DL, I still had a lot of yelling bits to do, lots of laughing and plenty of faces to make. My tooth hurt so badly the next day, almost hurt more than the day I had it.

But I’m better now, had a great time at the roast, will miss Mr. Alvarado and his sweet hugs, feels like he just got here, and had a hell of a time at a great party and roast.

Good luck Alvarado, our small pond will miss your big fish. That sounded kinda dirty.
