Another crazy day! Less crazy, but crazy. Makes the day go by fast anyhoo.
And theres another thing I'm re-learning. I learned this when I travelled to Southeast Asia, but this thing is, there is always someone to ask. There is always someone that knows an answer to your question. My boss is gone today and I've amazed myself with what answers I can come up with, you just have to find the right person to ask, and if they don't know, they can point you to someone who will. It's quite a powerful feeling actually, removes anxiety and fear.
So last night I’m having fondue with my friends, a little Christmas fondue, just what everyone loves. And this conversation happens.
My friend Barbera starts it, he is a smaller stockier fellow, of Italian heritage, one of the most laid back people I have ever known.
We were discussing how we would like to see Barbera on Survivor. He’s a pretty friendly guy, tough though, he could give everyone a run for their money. Then we started to wonder if Barbera could really make it with the spiders and mosquitos and rats and such and Barbera starts to mention about he’s really lame about stuff like that.
“I really am a wimp about rats and spiders and bugs, I am like a little girl, a scared little girl. Remember John?” John is rummaging around with music on the computer “didn’t I tell you before I was like a scared little girl?” And John brilliantly answers “No, you said you were a fancy lady”.
Barbera seemed satisfied with that answer.
I dunno, it might not translate well, but it’s been making me laugh all day.
As Christmas moves closer, I wonder where my spirit is, but know as an adult that it usually doesn’t happen till right around Christmas Eve, when you can just sense it in the air, when the family is all here and presents are wrapped. Until then, just a regular work week.
I need me some Prancer. If anyone has not seen Prancer, rent it, Netflix it, do whatever it takes to get it. Greatest Christmas movie of all time, will have you weeping like a child, and speaking of children, Prancer has the most un-obnoxious, un-pretentious child actor in it, like a breath of fresh air.
Belle Grande.
