Okay, so I’m going to do this and get it over with. I know that there are some people that read my blog and don’t know every single thing that is going on in my life. So I’m going to write this, post an update here or there, but generally leave this blog to what it is….laymen’s architecture criticism and long run on sentences.
My mother has had a stroke. She had it two weeks ago today (my god, is that right? Feels like a thousand weeks). She is okay as can be. She is paralyzed on her left side but has been seen moving her leg when ordered by her doctor. This stroke arrived on the evening of back surgery, so she is in pain and on major pain meds. It is hard still to figure out if her confusion is pain medication or stroke symptoms, I still don’t know.
I went to see her for 5 days and was so happy to be there and it was so horrible to be there. Her granddaughter has just left there and I am sure that that was some major rehabilitative stuff.
My family is amazing and incredible, as well as my friends and my dearest boyfriend who has been so patient and kind and amazing. I’m thankful to all these people for taking this devastating thing and at least pouring major amounts of love into it. So thank you everyone.
On the upside of all things me, I have finished my classes at the Architecture Foundation. I had my last class on Saturday and after doing some major major catch up work, I gave great oral exam and great written as well. We went on a 3 hour bus tour to the South Side to see all the cool things I never get to see, lots of Mies and Rem Koolhas and all kinds of neat with the Worlds Fair.
So be it, so it is done, so it shall be right? We’re moving on from here, again, I’ll post updates soon.
