What happens in Vegas

Goes into my blog.

Vegas was awesome! We stayed up all night Friday night and arrived in Vegas about 9AM and went to our hotel, the elegant (sarcasm) San Remo hotel!
The San Remo is the trashiest hotel on the strip, it’s tiny compared to the others and has a casino you can actually make your way through to the back without getting lost.

At the front desk at 9:30AM after being up all night the guy tells me that my reservation for a king size bed and an early check in was “first come first served” and I said “well I’m first and I made a reservation that was paid already on my credit card and I’m not taking a crappy room with two twin beds” he says “I’m not going to dance with you” and I said “Hey look, I didn’t even know we had started dancing” About that time he and I decided we understood each other and he helped us out hugely and we became fast friends.
The door guys, the change guys, the roulette guy, all were more old school, much more friendly and total characters. The room was nice and clean and my front desk guy set us up with an awesome view of New York New York.

John's moustache was hilarious and he got some great looks for people. The game was even funnier when I got dressed up to match him and we looked like the best tacky people in Vegas. I got tons of dirty old man looks and it looked like people were just basically scare of John.

We spent the rest of the time making fun of other people, making fun of ourselves, playing nickel Monopoly slots and nervously making 2$ bets on the roulette tables. We ate like kings at the paupers tables, all our food the same color. We rode the roller coaster at New York New York which hurt my boobs tremendously (it’s not the smoothest ride) and had fun trying to figure out which buildings were real and which were fake.

To my half trained architectural eye the buildings were amazing to look at. I couldn’t stop staring at them, the MGM Grand and New York New York in particular. But everything is so huge, so big. You just can’t stop looking at it all. We saw the Venetian, Paris and the Luxor (another favorite) Excalibur, the Bellagio…so many. We saw brides and grooms on Valentine’s day and I felt sorry for them. Wandering around an impersonal casino in a fancy but cheap wedding dress. Seemed a little sad actually.

I was surprised at how closed off everyone was, I figured John and I would be social. He meets people everywhere he goes, talks to everyone, always making friends. We talked to no one…there’s no real “social” place to sit and talk to people and the other couples or whatever that are there are from mid earth and don’t want to talk to us, they’re scared. Everyone was definitely in their own little worlds, so we stayed in ours happily. And we’re not big table gamblers, so we didn’t get that social aspect at all.

No benches. There is nowhere to sit outside and just look at people. Guess they don’t want you sitting outside.
So there you go, Vegas is done! Quite a success.

Do I need to go back? Eh, probably not anytime soon. I’d love to do it rich one day, just dripping with money Vegas…I shouldn’t have turned that guy down when he offered us a million dollars to sleep with me.
Dern my luck.
